New Spirit Village
Bringing affordable housing and stability to a community recovering from wildfires.
The Thalden Family dedicated funds to building this housing development in response to the high level of need for affordable housing after the Almeda wildfire, which destroyed more than 2,600 homes and displaced more than 3,000 people across Oregon’s Jackson County.
Made up of 87 charming, single family detached homes complete with private driveways, fenced yards, appliances, and storage sheds, New Spirit Village goes beyond the standard affordable-housing-developments template.
Shortstack Projects
A blueprint for affordable housing developments in the Portland metro area.
The Shortstack development model provides a map forward for affordable housing developments in the Portland metro area, where housing density allowances have recently been made less restrictive. Shortstack broke ground in 2024 and will help address the region’s affordable housing deficit.
